Burning Annie

* BURNING ANNIE WINS AWARD!
Also: More screenings, festivals, and madness

 * Burning Annie has won the top jury prize of BEST FEATURE FILM at the MassBay Film Festival in Worcester, Massachusetts! Despite being up against considerable competition, our little film prevailed, winning its first award at its first festival appearance. The MassBay Film Festival's inaugural run (2003-4) saw everything from local productions to world cinema screened to audiences of thousands over nine months. Check out the Official Announcement.

 *  If you missed the MassBay screening, don't despair! A NEW SCREENING HAS BEEN ADDED in Worcester! It is Saturday, May 22, at 4pm in the beautiful new Razzo Hall in the Traina Arts Center on the Clark campus. It is in the middle of Clark's annual Alumni Reunion Weekend, aka the day before Commencement, and Professor Tim Shary will host a pre-show lecture (at 3:30pm) and post-show Q&A as part of the "Back to the Class" events. Here is the full schedule; we're about halfway down. The event is open the public. Free. Seating is limited and first-come, first serve, so get there early.

 *  Update from the West Virginia Int'l Film Festival, where Burning Annie is the Opening Night Feature (Thurs, April 29, 8pm). Tickets will go on sale Monday, April 26, and are only be available at the Capitol Center Theater box office in Charleston, WV. Don't let that deter you! Hope to see you there!

 * The BURNING ANNIE Store is having a sale: $2 off all headgear (hats!) if you use the coupon code GOSPRING. Only through Monday, April 19. (Our merchandise pays for the expenses of our festival appearances, so please support!)

 *  We want to play everywhere! If you know of a good film festival near you, please email me. Don't forget to tell them about the movie, too, especially if you know people who work for the festival! And please, check our Screenings Page for the list of festivals to tell about how good a film BA is!

 * Annie Hall is coming to Los Angeles' wonderful Arclight Cinemas! It is part of the AFI's 100 GREATEST FILMS series, and is one night only-- Wednesday, April 21, at 8pm. Get tickets here. A good opportunity to spread the word about Burning Annie! :-)

 * COMING SOON-- an interview with the filmmakers and cast of Burning Annie at BanginBanana.com and ModZine.com...

 That's it for this edition!

"Strikes so close to home that it's impossible
to think about it in any sort of detached sense.
Succeeds in conjuring the tone and spirit
of 'Annie Hall'-- a remarkable thing, indeed.
BURNING ANNIE MAY BE THE BEST MOVIE
      	    	I'VE SEEN THIS YEAR."
				                - Entertainment Today

"Clearly a labor of love.
	 The best romantic comedy I've
seen in years. A GREAT FILM."
                	 	- MSNBC

"At once touching and funny, but
	 never cloying or cute-- credit
the deft writing and camera work.
	 Add an excellent score and
THIS LITTLE FILM COMES UP BIG."
               			- E. Hampton Independent

"Likable-- tons of 'tude!
	SMART-ASS PUNS, WITTY REPARTEE,
      	 sardonic asides, and
	   SHARP SOCIAL OBSERVATIONS.
	        Kim Murphy is luminous."
                		- Daily Variety
